Volunteer Activity
Who we are and what we do
We have an active conservation group who volunteer at the Ash Link Nature Reserve, to the north of Shepperton. The group meets on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from September to June at 9.30am.
Ash Link Local Nature Reserve
The reserve consists of two sites on either side of the M3, joined by a footbridge.
Nutty Wood is North of the M3 at the end of Nutty Lane. It is approximately 4 acres of semi-mature woodland, open glades, woodland and scrub.
Splash Meadow is South of the M3 at the end of Old Charlton Road. It is approximately 5 acres of wet grassland and a small piece of woodland and Splash Wildlife Pond (circumference 100m)
The role of the conservation volunteers is to enjoy the outdoors and make changes to
- Increase the biodiversity of the area.
- Encourage the creation of self-guided nature trails for all visitors
- Protect and enhance the area and maintain it as a green space for future generations
